Lives don’t run out simply because you are 50 or 60

to show that lives don't run out simply because you are 50 or 60

I heard this phrase on the radio today:

“lives don’t run out simply because you are 50 or 60”

I’ve not heard it said like this before.  Some people assume that at 50 or 60 a woman isn’t doing anything interesting, if she ever was.  I’ve more than once been asked  ‘are you still working’ ?

“lives don’t run out simply because you are 50 or 60”

would’ve been a great response/put down this sort of query deserves.

Anyway what does working look like?  Yesterday a bald/ dumpy man I’d just met told me his daughter had said  TikTok was the ‘latest’ ( I know).

How did I know about it?  he asked – had my daughter told me?

I’m trying not to take the question personally, but just evidence of his assumption that my own life would’ve run out when I was  50 or 60 years old and I would now be living through a son or daughter ( don’t have either ).

“lives don’t run out simply because you are 50 or 60”

More years don’t mean living a second hand life. I know the years are just a number and in that sense my age isn’t relevant but as I’ll be 73 next year – its more important than ever to live as a progression to more and new and better.

This is a picture of me being a barbell at Cheethas in Hove

It was Hannah’s inspiration. She went to the desk at Cheethas and said ‘can you lift 50 kilos?’. ‘Course we can’ said Greg

‘Oh by the way its human’  said Hannah.

Thanks Ricky and Greg for the lift. Hannah Grasskamp for her imagination in capturing the image and thanks to Jason for his training.

Please see the video of the above on TikTok soon .
